(1) Reflect upon the mission statement of the Urban Institute for Teacher Education. Include ways and experiences that draw upon the mission -
The mission of the UITE is to prepare educators to serve urban students and educational communities in all their rich diversity. We conceive of educational diversity as the dynamic engagement of a range of cultural and urban traditions, including individual differences in ability. In preparing teachers and leaders to work within and across differences, we collaborate with community-based initiatives, seek out community partners, and continually work to discover fresh and innovative ways to approach both curriculum and pedagogy. Our goal is an educational process in which teachers, leaders, and teacher educators draw upon multidisciplinary research and direct urban inquiry to serve all students well. We welcome prospective teachers to this vital, sometimes daunting but always exhilarating, challenge.
(2) Know your audience - the members of the admission committee are also educators who are so passionate about the field of teaching, that they wanted to teach at a university so they could pass along their knowledge and share their strengths to future teachers.

Are Praxis I and II Scores sent directly to my Advisor?
No - Praxis I and II scores are not sent directly to your advisor.
Once you have viewed your scores online (at www.ets.org), print a copy or save a pdf file of your scores.
Remember! Scores are online for only 30 days - so print a copy or save a pdf file of your scores. Once your scores are no longer viewable online, ETS will charge you a fee to have the scores mailed.
Pre-education students must include a copy of their Praxis I scores in their admissions application packet!
Students who are applying for their Elementary Ed teaching license must provide a copy of their Praxis II scores to the Elementary Ed advisor - the license application cannot be processed without it!
